About Concordia Lutheran Schools of Omaha
Concordia Lutheran Schools of Omaha prepares young people to be Faith Secure – World Ready – Kingdom Leaders. Concordia offers a safe, caring environment, an outstanding academic program and abundant opportunities in athletics and fine arts.
Fifteen congregations of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod are affiliated with Concordia. These congregations are located in and around the Omaha metropolitan area.
The Concordia family is much broader than its member congregations. Students come to Concordia from across and beyond Omaha. The nearly 525 students in grades K-12 represent more than 80 different Christian congregations. Concordia is known as a Christian school of excellence for the community.
Concordia began with the prayers of faithful Christians who wanted Lutheran education in West Omaha. Those prayers were answered when a group of congregations formed the West Omaha Lutheran School Association in 1996. In the fall of 1998, the association’s first elementary school, Abundant Life Lutheran School, opened to 55 students. The following year saw the opening of a second elementary school, Bread of Life. In the schools’ fifth year, after receiving a generous donation o...f 40 acres of land and a building from Bill & Berniece Grewcock, the school and community celebrated the opening of Concordia Jr.-Sr. High School at 156th and Fort Streets.
Today Concordia Lutheran Schools brings Christ-centered education to nearly 525 students in grades kindergarten through 12th. The elementary schools have been consolidated into one campus, Concordia Academy, located inside St. Mark Lutheran church at 90th and Blondo Streets. Our schools emphasize a Christian environment of academic excellence. Concordia offers a Biblical, Christian worldview, daily discipleship classes, weekly chapel, and a community that encourages prayer, Christian mission and service. Students at Concordia reach out with the love of Christ through chapel offerings and community service projects, benefiting mission projects and organizations serving those less fortunate.
The graduating senior class of 2019 says a lot about the students and families who are part of Concordia and the commitment to excellence they have made. The class of 2019 earned more than four million dollars in collegiate scholarships and boasted an ACT average above 25.0; higher than the Nebraska average and higher than any reporting district in Nebraska.
Welcome to Concordia! Concordia is a place to find a welcoming community of students and families focused on an excellent Christian academic education producing faith secure, world ready, kingdom leaders.
