What does this role entail?
You will utilize your combined expertise in corporate and foundation giving and be responsible for expanding the corporate and foundation giving program for driving contribution revenue growth. Working with key leaders, you will be responsible for defining and shaping the company’s strategy by using your creativity and expertise to identify applicable grant agencies, writing and submitting grant proposals, as well as all grant-related tracking and reporting.
What are the role responsibilities?
Researches, identifies and nurtures potential funding sources to support existing and planned program activities using online grant resources and other leads.
Manages a portfolio of assigned corporate and foundation prospects, with the goal of maintaining, growing, and expanding InsideTrack’s reach in this area.
Identifies and champions specific projects for funding and assists with the development of strategy with team colleagues and senior management leaders.
Serves as grant writer for grant proposals, works on gift agreements for corporate and foundation prospects and coordinates proposal submissions. C Coordinates with InsideTrack and our parent organization Strada Education Network, as needed, on proposal development and administration.
Serves as the primary corporate and foundations contact in the absence of the executive leadership.
Prepares and processes letters and correspondence, presentation materials, and maintains an internal database (Salesforce CRM) for funding opportunities, activity tracking, and related files and processes.
Provides support and follow up with conversations and overall communications with potential funding agencies regarding InsideTrack’s mission, services, and product offerings.
Builds strong business relationships and engages in productive conversations ranging from Executives to Operations people at various funding agencies.
Collaborates with the entire market-facing organization including Program Development, Client Partnerships, Sales Operations, Solutions, and all departments and functions involved with sales, client support and account management; contribute to the overall success of the team.
May also write and support RFP responses for non-grant funding proposals, as requested.
What qualifications and experience are required for success in this role?
Required: Bachelor's degree or higher
Three (3) or more years of related work experience including grant writing and development of corporate and foundation giving programs
Strong working knowledge of higher education- with enrollment and retention best practices strongly preferred
Successful track record in applying for and acquiring grants
Flexible writing style with an ability to tailor content and style to most effectively communicate with individual constituents
Ability to work on a fast timeline, completing multiple projects at once under tight deadlines
Proven track record working with little oversight, self-motivation, flexible, and ability to maintain a positive attitude when experiencing business rejection
Strong work-ethic, with the ability to work and be managed remotely
Strong and demonstrated leadership abilities and skills with the right level of confidence in one’s self
Requires the right mix of industry knowledge, strategic thinking, and discipline with a desire to develop and learn basic and front-end selling skills and account management skills
Ability and skills to be properly trained to appropriately represent InsideTrack and present the ITK value proposition in a consultative communication with current and potential grant agencies
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as strong and demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills; ability to listen attentively
Strong quantitative skills and ability to grasp company and agencies economics (ability to understand complex financial models including ROI and operating margins)
Ability to cultivate strong interpersonal customer and coworker relationships at all levels of organization
Interest in personal development, coaching, and education
Strong working knowledge of higher education issues, university operations and the institutional value proposition of coaching services
Strong project management and problem solving skills, with ability to juggle competing priorities
Are there travel requirements?
Position requires approximately 10% travel time attending sales and client presentations, conferences and internal/external business meetings which may include overnight travel. At times, travel demands may be greater.
