St. Lawrence University invites applications for a Senior Associate Director of Laurentian Engagement position. Reporting to the Director of Laurentian Engagement, the Senior Associate Director will be responsible for developing and strengthening career-related alumni connections and programs. St. Lawrence University boasts one of the most loyal and dedicated alumni networks in the nation, and the candidate will be primarily responsible for enlisting career volunteers from around the world to successfully execute programs that connect students and Laurentians in career development opportunities both on- and off- campus.
Coordination and continued development the SLU Connect program
Conceptualize, coordinate, organize and support all aspects of the SLU Connect program in six or more strategic locations across the country.
Partner with the Career Services staff to ensure all student group needs (e.g., hotel rooms, meeting space, etc.) are met in each program.
Work with Major Gift Officers to recruit strategic alumni, parents and friends to serve as volunteers (e.g., site hosts, interviewers, panelists, etc.) at Connect programs.
Organize networking events as a part of each SLU Connect program to show case the students selected to participate.
Additional Laurentian Connections Programming
Conceptualize, coordinate, organize and support University career-building programming that includes alumni, parents and friends. This person will be serve as the Advancement representative involved in both on-campus (i.e. Laurentians in Residence, Sophomore Boot Camp, etc.) and off-campus (SLU Connect, Laurentians Investing in Networking and Careers, Shadow-a-Saint, regional programming) efforts.
Work with the Career Services staff to enhance their efforts of matching determined, talented students with mentors in their field of interest.
Work with the Laurentian Engagement staff to foster various networking events in cities that show potential as a future SLU Connect venue.
Explore opportunities for engagement and networking within identities, such as LGBTQIA alumni, domestic alumni of color and international alumni.
Develop and execute Athletic Engagement and Fundraising strategies
In partnership with members of the Laurentian Engagement staff, help develop and execute Athletic Engagement and Fundraising opportunities.
With a primary focus on Division 1 ice hockey and in partnership with the athletic department, explore ways to enhance fan engagement.
Explore opportunities for athletic fundraising, including the development of an athletic donor challenge.
Travel to meet with current and potential Laurentian Career volunteers. The number of visits will be determined on an annual basis.
Travel to staff SLU Connect, career and regional events as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested to meet departmental goals and objectives.

An undergraduate degree is required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Six years minimum experience in advancement/fundraising, alumni relations, career services, higher education or a similar field.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, build effective relationships, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to develop strong relationships with Laurentians with the highest degree of professionalism.
A willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends when needed.
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the University’s requirements to drive a University vehicle.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
