What You'll Do:
As a Gift Processing Assistant, you will carry out our Mission of Love by assisting with the fundraising programs for all the Masonic Charities of the R.W. Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include Gift Processing, Data Management, Reporting, Donor Communications, Training and assisting in the integrity of the Raiser's Edge donor database to advance the goals of the department and to maximize the performance of the donor database for fundraising purposes. Our Gift Processing Assistant is responsible for the following:
Gift Processing ' Prepare and transmit contribution checks for daily deposits. Enters or import of all gifts and pledges with their attendant funds, codes, and notations into the donor database. Identifies and utilizes varied manual and electronic processes for recording gifts by cash, check, credit card, electronic funds transfer, stock, or in-kind. Follows the acknowledgment process involving letters with the goal of 24-48 hour turnaround time. Processes all matching gift confirmations and pledges. Handles online gifts.
Record Development ' Verify information with Grand Lodge membership file if not included with contribution. Update Grand Lodge membership system of member address changes, deceased information and mailing boxes, etc. Create new donor records in Raiser's Edge, as needed. Maintain constituent records as needed including decreasing constituents, change of address, birthdates, spouse information, creating globals, etc.
Reporting ' Develop and generate appropriate reports, in various formats (crystal, excel, etc.), requested by the Director of Annual Fund Development, Finance Office and Chief Executive Officer i.e., status reports, restricted reports, and exhibits appeal progress reports and various statistical reports. Verify accuracy.
Support to Development Department ' Serves as an active member of the Development team, contributing to goal setting and the refinement of processes and procedures. Collects and shares donor notes and anecdotal information for appeals, proposals, newsletter articles and other projects.
Reconciliation with Accounting Department ' Serve as a back-up for preparing monthly closing reports, check requisitions and journal entries as requested. Responds to requests from Accounting staff and/or auditors for back-up documents or verification of gift intent or timing.
Interact with fellow employees as a team member and to relate to donors, potential donors, and other persons in a highly professional manner through phone calls and letters. Keep the Director of Annual Fund Development informed of any pertinent information.
What You Definitely Have:
Minimum of 24 months experience with Raiser's Edge.
Self-starter with an ability to thrive and work effectively either alone or as part of a small team.
Proficiency with typing and calculator required.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, problem-solve, handle numerous tasks concurrently and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
Ability to build rapport with donors, volunteers, and the public with diplomacy, discretion, and customer-service orientation. Sensitivity, tact and the ability to honor confidentiality.
Excellent computer skills, MS experience.
