Working with the Sr. Director of Advancement Operations, the Director of Advancement Events is responsible for the creation, implementation, and execution of a strategic relationship driven model of Events. These activities serve as a focal point for stewarding existing donors, engagement of new and future donors, and securing annual income through a suite of external programming. Combined, these events and activities generate thousands of touchpoints between the Museum and the Greater New England Community that represents the impact the Museum has in the community.
Leading a staff of three, a Fundraising Events Committee, and external vendors, this position and the Event Department are responsible for centralized Event strategy and execution. This includes 50+ Events a year in collaboration with departments across the Museum. The Director collaborates with Gift Officers to execute tailored programing and coordinates logistics including briefings, talking points, communications, and senior leadership engagement.
Working with SVP Advancement, leadership, and Gift Officers, create and drive a cohesive events strategy designed to engage prospects and deepen engagement with existing donors Work directly with Gift Officers to drive fundraising event asks for donors and prospects in their portfolios
Oversee three direct reports in the Advancement Events department
Expected annual income through events to exceed $1,000,000 annually
Manages all aspects of over 50+ events per year serving up to 500 guests per event
Maintain a portfolio of 50+ individual and corporate prospects related to the Fundraising Events Initiative
Manage the 12-person Fundraising Events Committee, comprised primarily of Trustees and Overseers; hold at least three meetings per year
Working in close collaboration with the Office of the President, the Director is the primary contact for events to over 100 Trustees and Overseers
This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday. This position also requires that ability to maintain a flexible schedule with night work and some occasional weekend work.

Bachelor of Science or Arts
7 or more years of fundraising, event planning, and/or donor management experience
Demonstrated experience in managing fundraising events and/or corporate events
Demonstrated track record in soliciting gifts from individual, corporations and/or foundations
Demonstrated experience in donor databases
Demonstrated experience managing vendor relations
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated attention to detail
