We are currently seeking a Chief Development Officer who will be responsible for the management, implementation and evaluation of the Gurwin Jewish Healthcare Foundation, with a focus on cultivating revenue streams and avenues for fundraising while furthering the overall mission of the organization.
The Chief Development Officer manages philanthropic growth and expansion, ensuring stability over the long-term.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a strategic plan and strategies for the successful implementation of all fundraising programs;
Develop financial and management reports, including a Monthly Action Plan, and ensure that the Foundation operates efficiently within allocated funds;
Re-align and enhance staff to place more emphasis on engagement of those who can make the greatest philanthropic difference;
Develop actionable strategies for meeting short and long-term fundraising goals through grants, sponsorships, major and planned gifts and fundraising events;
Raises awareness of the organization and its primary goals through outreach efforts, regular events in the community, publications, and media relations;
Track revenue and fundraising trends, using the information to predict future opportunities for expansion efforts and avoid any downtrends in individual, corporate or foundation gifts;
Plan and oversees fundraising events to make sure all donor needs are met and fundraising goals are achieved;
Direct and supervise personnel, evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions such as salary increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions;
Develop a “best practices” leadership gift program that is disciplined, strategic, and focused on the best opportunities.
Develop and initiate a Planned Giving Program;
Enhance a systematized grant-seeking program from foundations and corporations;
Cultivate and maintain relationships with Foundation Board members and major donors by responding to their inquiries, keeping them apprised of recent activities within the organization and demonstrate the progress that their time and donations have made possible;
Work closely with the Marketing and Public Relations department to include messages of philanthropy throughout the organization and social media campaigning;
Develop a grateful Patient/Family Concierge Program and grow annual giving;
Serve as advisor to the President and CEO, other senior administrators and work directly with the Board of Directors to encourage their participation in philanthropic endeavors.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required;
Master’s Degree preferred; Professional credential required CFRE;
Pursuit of continuing academic and professional education expected;
Demonstrated qualities of strength, stamina and enthusiasm for hard work and be skilled at accurately communicating needs, interests and accomplishments to a wide range of internal and external constituencies.
