Has the responsibility of the general accounting processes that result in consisting accurate updates to the general ledger and is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely resolution of day to day accounting issues. Senior Accountant is also responsible for performing month end closing duties, month end reporting for both internal and external reporting.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Prepare month end journal entries timely and accurately
Participate in the Finance department continuous improvement efforts
Reconciliation of bank accounts
Support the development of the annual financial budget
Assist in the preparation of the financial audit and 990
Must be able to work independently to meet deadlines.
Participate in preparing graphs and spreadsheets to be used in financial presentations.
Upload/Download large volumes of data and maintain useable databases.
Provide support in Finance/Accounting Department where needed.
Interface with other departments (teams) to ensure accurate forecasts.
Minimum Educational Requirements
BA/BS in Finance or Accounting
Minimum Experience Requirements
At least two years working in general ledger accounting. Experience in fund accounting is a plus
Minimum Skill Requirements
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Good communication/interpersonal skills required.
Must have the ability to work independently and meet financial timetables.
Ability to upload/download large amounts of data and create useable databases.
