The Development Associate is primarily responsible for assisting in and supporting fund-raising activities, including grant writing, mass mailings, and thank you calls. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Associate will write, assemble, and submit grant requests, maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines, and maintain relationships with appropriate contacts. Grant sample letter instructions: Using information found on www.cliburn.org and other sites, draft a hypothetical one-page request letter to the Sid Richardson Foundation from the Cliburn President and CEO using your discretion and past experience to determine the amount to ask and the area to support.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in grant writing / development
Self-motivated with outstanding interpersonal skills in communicating through various channels
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Able to prioritize & multi-task; be highly detail-oriented
Knowledge of working in a relational database, e.g. Raiser’s Edge
Excellent writing skills and ability to work with initiative, drive, and focus
