Annual Giving, Capital Campaigns/Endowment, Planned Giving

Responsible for the management and implementation of the annual fund plan as approved by the Vice President and Associate Vice President. Develops, manages, and implements an aggressive Annual Fund program to generate annual fund gifts from alumni, parents, students, faculty/staff, and friends. Manages a matrix of communications and solicitations involving direct mail, call campaigns, electronic media, personal solicitation, and volunteer management, all focused on shaping a sustainable tradition of annual support.
Develops and maintains an annual giving plan and financial goals, including program budget.
Collaborates with Deans and Directors of Development to build strategic and tactical plans for achieving annual fund goals.
Establishes, implements manages and evaluates an annual calendar of activities that proactively engages constituents including alumni, faculty and staff, and friends whose interests encompass diverse areas including but not limited to the arts and athletics.
Develops a comprehensive faculty and staff campaign.
Stewards current annual leadership donors with communications, personal visits, calls, and invitations.
Establishes benchmarks and monitors progress for the annual giving program; produces regular, comparative annual giving status reports and evaluates the response according to different criteria (segmentation, class year, participation rate, etc.)
Develops creative themes and designs including brochures, promotional materials, appeals and other related print and online content.
Identifies effective segmentation and establish processes to improve data integrity and to track and analyze fundraising results in consultation with Advancement Services.
OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS
Provides leadership to student employee (s) who will manage the stewardship and phone center outreach.
Works closely with the alumni program staff to promote alumni giving through communications and events.
Provides regular reports on established benchmarks to the Associate Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Relations and other duties as assigned.
Provides primary supervision of designated staff.
Must be creative and strategic in creating a comprehensive University-wide Annual Giving Program.
Ability to use computer software programs with proficiency, specifically including but not limited to Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
Overnight travel to meet alumni, donor prospects and volunteers required.
Five (5) years of professional fundraising experience.
Must be highly articulate and able to handle confidential information appropriately. Must have excellent and persuasive communications for writing for, presentation to, and interaction with donors and prospects.
Licenses or Certifications
Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Manages department budget according to University policies and procedures.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and use independent judgment. Supervises student employees.
Experience using donor software. Proficiency with CASE guidelines for gift counting. Proficiency with IRS regulations regarding charitable giving.
