Food For The Poor is seeking a fundraising professional who is a strong leader with excellent fundraising and managerial skills, and compassion for the poor. The successful candidate will lead and manage the Major Giving Department, develop and nurture relationships with top-tier donors to assist them in identifying and fulfilling their philanthropic goals. Lead Major Giving Department
Develop and maintain on-going relationships with prospects and donors who have the capacity to make philanthropic gifts at the major gift level, six figures and up.
Develop and maintain year round relationships with top-tier donors by personally visiting them and assist in the management of the relationships with them.
Work to identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors, leveraging personal and professional contacts and relationships into fundraising opportunities
Work with team to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward friends of Food For The Poor
Manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors and research and works to continually identify, qualify, cultivate relationships
Collaborate with other organization’s team members, and representatives of Food For The Poor to cultivate and solicit donors based on organization’s priorities and goals
Adhere to the highest ethical standards
Demonstrate empathetic disposition and convey sensitivity to needs of the donors
Reflect optimistic and positive attitude
Skills & Qualifications:
Must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the five- and six-figure range
Proven success at managing a fundraising team, and record of meeting and exceeding goals
Strong relationship building, interpersonal and leadership skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational capabilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Understand all aspects of development and fundraising in order to effectively lead others
Interest in all aspects of serving the poor and a dedication to promoting Food For The Poor’s fundraising priorities through developing excellent relationships with donors, staff and volunteers at all levels
Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multifunctional or diverse areas
Computer savvy and knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
Donor Direct and other applicable donor-related software experience helpful
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of education and experience required
Five or more years of successful fundraising and not-for-profit management experience
