The Museum seeks a full-time Development Associate who will be a critical member of the Museum’s collaborative development team. The Concord Museum is engaged in the final stages of a major renovation and reinstallation project to engage new and broader audiences with Concord’s history and the extensive collections of the Museum. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Development Associate will join the Museum at this exciting time and be responsible for building individual and foundation support.
Supports the Annual Fund Effort
With the Director of Advancement and the Manager of Membership & Engagement, helps to shape and implement a comprehensive, year-long effort to maximize annual giving from individuals, providing stewardship as needed to ensure long-term support.
Researches potential donors, including those with the capacity and inclination to make major support or planned gifts.
Executes Annual Fund operations, including print and electronic appeals, tracking, and reports.
Contributes to major fundraising activities of the Museum
Supports major gift efforts, including donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition activities.
Works with Development staff to plan, execute, and evaluate fundraising and donor cultivation events.
Supports fundraising efforts for designated funds and special exhibitions.
Generates reports to track fund-raising progress throughout the year.
Assists the Director of Advancement in providing staff support to Board Development Committee and the Board of Governors.
With the Manager of Membership & Engagement, collaborates with Guild volunteers to plan, execute, and evaluate events that achieve their fundraising goals.
Writes and coordinates grant proposals and reports, completing other writing tasks as assigned.
Tracks deadlines and ensures compliance with grant requirements.
Supports Museum’s marketing and communications strategy.
Works with outside organizations and entities who wish to rent Museum spaces for private events; serves as the main point of contact for rental inquiries.
Provides additional support for the department as needed.
Passion for the Concord Museum’s mission
Experience in fundraising or related disciplines with a demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding goals
Proven success in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
Experience managing and supporting volunteers
Ability to build relationships and effectively relate to a range of circumstances
Superior oral, written, and interpersonal skills
A professional and resourceful style; the ability to work both independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple projects at a time
High integrity and sound judgment
Bachelor’s degree required
Excellent computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite and a fundraising database, preferably Abila Fundraising 50, required; design skills and experience with InDesign a plus
Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as required
