As a member of the Foundation’s Senior Leadership Team, the Executive Director, Leadership Giving is responsible for generating over 90% of the Foundation’s philanthropic revenue by developing and overseeing the execution of a comprehensive strategic fundraising plan for all giving of leadership prospects. Manages all front-line fundraising staff for optimum performance in meeting short and long term fundraising goals. Plans and directs all special capital campaigns. This position reports to the EVP of the Foundation.
Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.
Ten or more years’ experience in development including in major gifts and planned giving preferably in healthcare/medical industry. Previous experience with a successful capital campaign required.
Established track record of building strong relationships with internal constituencies, board leadership and external donors and closing significant major gifts.
Ability to build strong relationships with high-level volunteers, medical leadership, prospects, donors and their advisors.
Proven operational, leadership, and communication skills. Self-motivation, positive energy, drive, stamina and enthusiasm are required.
Superior organizational and management skills.
Strong working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge donor database.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Presentation skills to top management required.
Must be a team player that exemplifies Service Excellence.
