The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), America’s first art museum and school of fine arts, is seeking an achievement-oriented development professional to serve as a front-line fundraiser and highly visible presence in the community. The Director of Corporate Relations reports to the Vice President of Major Gifts and works closely with the President & CEO and Chief Development Officer to manage and develop a robust pipeline of corporate prospects.
With a portfolio focused on both corporate donors and prospects, the Director of Corporate Relations is charged with researching, identifying and cultivating new corporate gifts prospects; preparing proposals and materials to be used in the solicitation of corporate support and provide benefits fulfillment and active stewardship to current donors.
The Director of Corporate Relations will also identify, solicit and secure new Business Partners members and corporate sponsorships for exhibitions, programs and annual events; maintain active relationships with the regional business and philanthropic communities and work with regional chambers of commerce to create new corporate relationships and partnerships.
The Director of Corporate Relations will be responsible for the following:
Identify, solicit, and secure diverse new business partners, corporate sponsors and corporate prospects ($2,500+). Collaborate with the Vice President of Major Gifts and other staff to develop plans for soliciting capital gifts from current and new corporate prospects.
Establish & maintain strong working relationships with Board members and Board committees.
Lead review sessions with volunteers, Board members and leadership staff; implement outreach strategies to advance PAFA’s relationship with corporate prospects.
Prepare Board members, staff, volunteers and key administrative leaders to interact with prospects. Participate with them in cultivation and solicitation as necessary.
Coordinate the corporate solicitation and sponsorship fulfillment activities of the Bacchanal! Wine Auction and Gala as well as the Annual Student Exhibition Preview Party of the Women’s Board.
Develop and implement plans to generate incremental sponsorship revenue from current and new business partners and/or increase revenue from existing business partners.
Collaborate with Museum, School and administrative colleagues whose programs involve regional or national supporters.
Network in the community by attending awards luncheons/dinners, chamber meetings, and other local philanthropic events.
Support and attend development cultivation and fundraising events (i.e. Corporate Receptions, Exhibition Openings, Peale Circle activities, etc.).
Manage prospect tracking and action reports using Raiser’s Edge.
Experienced development professional with a minimum of five years front-line fundraising experience and the proven ability to cultivate, solicit and steward prospects.
Experience with in-person solicitation of gifts and/or sponsorships in the museum or cultural non-profit sector.
Excellent communication skills in written and oral presentation, including the ability to articulate the mission of PAFA to a diverse audience.
Highly driven and self-motivated with exceptional relationship building skills, charisma, confidence and professional polish.
Ability to work in a collaborative setting that involves shared decision making and program responsibility;
Must possess a high level of integrity and trust, keen interpersonal judgment, and the ability to set clear priorities.
Knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or similar constituent management systems proposal and reporting features is required.
Museum and/or higher-education experience is preferred.
Ability and willingness to travel as necessary; must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
A Bachelor’s degree required.
A passion for the fine arts is required.

PAFA's museum is internationally known for its permanent collection of American art.
