Position: Associate Director of Development, Annual Fund and Alumni Relations
Reports to:Director of Development
Purpose: Plans and implements Moore’s annual giving program, including soliciting and securing annual and leadership annual gifts to help increase the pipeline of major gift prospects for the College. Plans and administers alumni outreach programs with an emphasis on increasing alumni involvement in and support of the College.
Bachelor’s degree and four years progressively responsible fund raising experience, particularly in annual fund development and alumni relations.
Excellent writing skills – demonstrated ability to craft compelling, persuasive direct mail and digital appeals
Strong creative, innovative thinker
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with prospects and donors
Ability to work effectively in a team setting, strong communication and superior interpersonal skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and development databases (particularly Raiser’s Edge).
Knowledge of Philadelphia-area fund raising community helpful, including experience raising gifts from individual donors.
Volunteer/committee management experience
Ability to travel if necessary as well as work evenings and weekends
Goal-oriented work ethic
Plans and implements all aspects of annual fund campaign, including special annual fund appeals (with an emphasis on digital appeals) to meet annual fund goals.
Develops strategies and monitors progress toward increasing overall Moore alumni giving participation, number of annual fund donors and gifts.
Manages Sarah Peter Society campaign, including donor cultivation, stewardship and special events.
Assists with Board annual giving campaign
Manages a portfolio of 75 individual prospects and makes approximately 5 visits a month to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors with capacity for gifts in the $1,000-$25,000 range.
Plan, recommend and carry out appropriate solicitation strategies as well as donor cultivation/stewardship activities – engage faculty, staff and volunteers as appropriate.
Manages annual fund direct outreach/activities including direct mail, digital campaigns, phonathon and other.
Work with Development Associate to ensure donors and sponsors are acknowledged in a personalized and timely manner.
Analyzes annual fund solicitation methods and develops strategies to increase annual giving revenue.
Other department duties as assigned.
Plans and implements, in collaboration with alumni volunteers, alumni events at the College and at off-site locations including, but not limited to, annual alumnae weekend, alumnae exhibition, and cultivation gatherings.
Coordinates alumni involvement in College activities and keeps alumni informed about the College.
Works closely with the Alumni Association President to ensure goals and objectives are met.
Collects and manages the communication of data and other information on alumni for use in Moore’s publications, social media and engagement of alumni.
Responds to inquiries and requests for information by alumni.
Meets with local and regional alumni as part of an ongoing alumni engagement strategy.
Manages Alumni Council and its committees.
