Classical KING FM is the public classical station serving Seattle and the Puget Sound Region. Seattle is undergoing tremendous growth thanks to its long history as a hub of innovation. Amazon, Microsoft, Costco and Starbucks (among others) are headquartered here and Facebook, Google, Salesforce and Apple have a major presence in the area. Classical KING will leverage the tremendous resources in the region to chart a new course for the station and classical radio.
KING FM’s operating model depends on philanthropic support from the community. To help raise this support, KING FM is seeking a Stewardship Officer with a pro-active style to engage with mid-level donors.
Reporting to the Director of Major Giving, this position will be responsible for stewarding, engaging, cultivating, and qualifying a group of 600-800 current mid-level donors (annual gift potential $500-$5,000). The Individual Giving Officer ensures outstanding stewardship is offered to provide a positive donor experience and demonstrate impact, leading to increased giving and donor retention.
Create and deliver stewardship touchpoints and communication materials for KING FM’s Mid-Level donors, that include personal phone calls, welcome letters, acknowledgement templates, invitations to events, impact reports, special communications and other benefits, to maintain their engagement and support;
Qualify donors within that group through personal and targeted interactions to determine further interest in the mission organization and opportunities for future cultivation at the major donor level
Identify, design and produce all aspects of high-touch donor events for the purpose of donor cultivation, recognition and stewardship. Manage and maintain RSVP lists, monitor budget line items, ensuring fiscally responsible expenditures.
Responsible for member benefits ladder for Development Department, oversees selection, purchase and distribution of thank you gifts for major donors, monitors budget line items, ensuring fiscally responsible expenditures
Data analysis and reporting (20%)
Monitor financial results and retention rate of Mid-Level solicitation plan (operated by a third party), identify strategy adjustments and opportunities to ensure revenue goals are met;
Create and monitor stewardship activities metrics and measure their impact on increased support;
Track and report relationship management activity using Raiser’s Edge and other tools used by the Development Department; utilize wealth engine software and research to qualify donors, and use action tracks to build donor journeys.
Other duties (15%):
Maintain grant calendar, prepare proposals at Mid-Level giving including local government opportunities. Manages grant stewardship.
Coordinate promotion of KING FM Travel Club tours; may attend tours to engage donors and guarantee a high level stewardship experience on the trip
Perform other work as requested, including during events and on-air pledge drives
Personal affinity for the arts, appreciation for Classical KING FM’s mission, enthusiasm and willingness to invest efforts in its success. We need a high energy and self-starter individual with a can-do attitude.
Bachelor’s degree or higher and minimum of 2 years’ experience in fundraising. Demonstrated success in donor cultivation and stewarding donor relationships. Knowledge of best practices in development.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and an ability to communicate successfully in writing, by phone or in person. Poised manner; ability to exercise discretion and judgement and professionally handle sensitive situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Impeccable writing and verbal communication skills.
Committed to proficient use of technology and data-supported decision-making. Experience in using a CRM software, Raiser’s Edge knowledge a plus.
Willingness to develop understanding of unique culture of Classical KING FM in particular and public radio broadcasting in general
Must be willing to work semi-regular evenings and occasional weekends. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and have a valid driver’s license.
