Gannon University, a vibrant Catholic, Diocesan, Master's I institution founded in 1925 in Erie, Pennsylvania, invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for University Advancement. The University is achieving unprecedented success through a keen focus on its Mission, its purpose of Transforming Lives and Inspiring Transformation and strategic goals of promoting learning through engagement, fostering organizational health and creating public impact. The Vice President for University Advancement is central to that critical work as the chief development officer working closely with the President and other leaders in the senior team, Board of Trustees and community to garner resources necessary for institutional success and sustainability. The University recently completed its most successful comprehensive campaign and is initiating early steps toward the launch of a new comprehensive campaign aligned with integrated strategic and campus master planning. The Vice President of University Advancement will guide the University through the formulation and successful execution of the next campaign, expanding resources by engaging loyal and new constituents.
Gannon is a comprehensive, university offering over 70 undergraduate programs, 22 master's programs and 4 doctoral programs including online modalities; serving 4,444 undergraduate and graduate students from over 50 countries across the three colleges with 217 full-time faculty; and developing leaders and global citizens through 20 Division II intercollegiate sports, dozens of clubs and organizations, extensive community engagement and domestic and international service and learning travel programs. Since 2011, the University has grown the total enrollment by 10% strategically adding multiple new undergraduate and graduate programs with commensurate growth in new full-time faculty and administrative positions. The campus footprint has seen significant expansion including a new campus in Ruskin, FL and new academic, athletic and residential facilities on the Erie, PA campus totaling over $130 million of capital investment. Charitable giving and endowment funds are strong and growing, supporting a healthy organization financial position.

The Vice President is a member of a forward thinking, entrepreneurial and collaborative President's Leadership Team and is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive advancement program consistent with best practices and the University's strategic plan and guided by the University's Mission, Catholic identity and commitment to inclusiveness and social responsibility. The Vice President has primary responsibility for providing vision and direction for all philanthropic initiatives, developing and managing corporate partnership relations, and leading with unquestionable integrity and abundant enthusiasm.

Be able to rally, develop and maximize the results of a team through outstanding vision and direction of professional staff and ensure success of a results-oriented advancement program.
Have extensive experience with progressive responsibility as a senior level development professional and leadership team member. Experience in a higher education is preferred.
Have strong working knowledge of best practices in campaign planning, annual giving programs, corporate and foundation relations, alumni affairs, prospect management, planned giving, major gifts, and CRM database management.
Possess the personal integrity, transparent and effective communications, and strategic thinking and execution skills to requisite for membership on the President's Leadership Team and essential for strategic planning, team building, friend and fundraising, and board and community relations.
Have a record of success in identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.
Understand and be able to articulate the importance of values-oriented Catholic university education, contribute to the Mission of the University, and possess a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
Possess a bachelor's degree; an advanced degree and/or CFRE certification is preferred.
