Development - General, Donor Relations/Stewardship, Major Gifts

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Associate will help our team to maintain donor databases, plan special events, and enhance fundraising activities at Urban Health Plan. This is a full-time role based in the Bronx, and calls for a critical thinker with a demonstrated ability to produce and deliver impactful communications.

Manages the dissemination of fundraising appeals and monitors effectiveness.
Conducts project research to find corporations and foundations that align with UHP’s mission.
Schedules and coordinates visits with prospective funders.
Assists with fundraising events including tracking goals, generating monthly reports, obtaining sponsorships, ensuring that events are on budget, and managing the event committee.
Coordinates the transition into new donor management system and maintains donor data.
Generates acknowledgment letters for gifts.
Attends variety of interdisciplinary meetings, networking events, and committees.

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, or related field of study.
2 years of experience working in a development/communications department.
Comfortable doing phone outreach.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Previous experience using a donor management system (eTapestry)- huge plus.
