EARTH was established by Costa Rican law in 1986 as a private, non-profit, international university and created with the support of the Costa Rican government, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
The position is based in EARTH's Campus in Guácimo, Costa Rica and is responsible of leading the fundraising initiatives of EARTH University in Latin America. The position reports remotely to the Executive Director of the EARTH Foundation.
The main responsibilities include:
Establishing the vision, strategies and global planning of the fundraising initiatives in Latin America.
Inspire, build, manage, coach and develop a high-performing multicultural team.
Plan and effectively execute the global fundraising opportunities jointly with the Dean, Boards of Directors and the leadership team of the EARTH Foundation.
Coordinate the planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of fundraising plans .
Build capacity and bring innovation and best-practices to the organization.
Ensure that all fundraising activity is conducted in a manner consistent with the organization's culture, reputation and values.
The candidate should have more than five years of experience in managerial positions in fundraising activities. A master's degree is required in a relevant field.
The candidate should be able to interact successfully with high profile donors in both the private and public sectors and must be proficient working in multicultural environments.
A successful candidate must be able to work independently and report remotely while supervising a local team in a multicultural campus. The position requires traveling in Latin America 60% of the time.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
