Mayfield Senior School of the Holy Child Jesus seeks a dynamic, creative and entrepreneurial fundraiser to serve as its next Director of Development. Founded in 1931, Mayfield is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for young women grades 9-12 sponsored by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus. Reporting to the Head of School and as a member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Development (DOD) is responsible for overseeing and executing Mayfield’s development activities. The DOD will oversee a program that includes a campaign, major giving, annual fund, corporate and foundation relations, alumnae relations, and special events in addition to prospect research and donor stewardship. Overseeing a team of three, the DOD will exercise sound judgement in both day to day decisions and strategic issues.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven to ten years of broad-based development experience with knowledge of current and evolving trends in capital campaigns, major gifts, annual giving, and alumnae programming. Participation in a major campaign is strongly preferred. A passion for empowering young women in education is highly valued. While experience in all-girls independent school education would be a plus, candidates with appropriate development experience in other environments will also be considered. A Bachelor’s degree is required, an advanced degree is preferred.
