Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), in cooperation with NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association, plays a unique role within the telecommunications industry by supporting rural telecom companies, consumers and policymakers with educational information, products and programming. FRS programs advance rural communities by focusing on education for rural youth, encouraging community development and exposing policymakers to the challenges these areas face.
FRS is seeking a highly motivated Development and Events Planner. Responsibilities include event planning and management, strategic donor development and tracking, as well as program assistance for foundation activities, including an annual youth tour and fundraising activities. This position provides a great opportunity for a professional interested in the non?profit arena, fundraising and event planning.
A successful candidate will have excellent people, customer service, time management and organizational skills, as well as an acute attention to detail. He/she should also have a working knowledge of computer operations and Microsoft products including Word, Outlook Excel, and PowerPoint as well at least a general understanding of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn). Experience with event planning, nonprofit work, fundraising, or telecommunications is preferred. Candidate must be willing to travel.
FRS maintains a pleasant office within a large association (NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association) and works closely with the association staff. Candidates should be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Office is in walking distance of Ballston Metro.
