Calvert Hall College High School seeks a Major Gifts and Planned Giving Officer to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gifts. The Major Gifts and Planned Giving Officer reports to the director of advancement.
Cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors and prospective major donors -through regular personal contact, written appeals, follow-up, outreach events, face to face meetings, and special events.
Personally manage relationships with a portfolio of assigned prospective donors, including cultivating, soliciting and stewarding their relationship with Calvert Hall.
Promote Calvert Hall’s Planned Giving program and increase membership in the 1845 Society of planned giving donors.
Regularly conducting in-person meetings with past and prospective donors.
Attend and assist with donor cultivation at recognition events and activities.
Plan solicitation activities in consultation with the director of the annual fund.
Cooperate and work together with all supervisors and co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction.
Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement.
Must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of moving potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure.
Successful experience (3+ years) in developing and executing strategies for the cultivation and solicitation of major gift/planned giving prospects.
Interest in Catholic, independent school education and a dedication to building strong relationships within the school community.
Must have excellent writing and interpersonal skills, reflect a positive, can-do attitude and have demonstrated record of meeting benchmarks.
Must be detailed oriented, thorough and accurate.
Display good judgement, tact, and discretion consistent with the highest ethical and professional standards in the performance of duties.
Ability to travel extensively.
