JOB SUMMARY: Seeking a talented and experienced professional for our Executive team. Key responsibility will be to lead, develop and manage fund development and communications strategies for the Partnership. Build and amplify the Partnership as a leading organization in maternal and child/adolescent health in New Jersey. This is a pivotal role for a highly motivated fundraising executive who will capture the essence of the Partnership’s story in developing its messaging and shaping its strategies. Supervise Manager of Development and Communications.
Create, manage, and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive Development Plan, which identifies strategies for increasing the organization’s unrestricted funding acquisition.
Identify, build, and maintain relationships with new prospects and existing donors, including individual, corporate, and foundations.
Implement annual giving campaigns and oversee fundraising events, including annual Gala.
Establish systems to effectively measure donor acquisition, retention, and define other metrics to support achievement of Development goals.
Create and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive Communications Plan for both development and programmatic communications.
Initiate and maintain relationships with media contacts to increase coverage of organizational activities; communicate with professionals, policymakers, consumers, and press.
Manage the organization’s online presence via the website, social media outlets.
Guide the Manager of Development & Communications with goal setting and work planning efforts.
Attend Board of Trustees meetings and Executive Management Group meetings.
Translate program grant reports into stories that illustrate the Partnership’s impact on mothers, children and adolescents.
Handle other assignments as requested.
Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree in relevant field preferred. CFRE designation is highly desirable.
Minimum 8 years of progressive Development experience, including a successful track record in securing individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
Experience supervising and motivating staff.
Ability to lead Board of Trustees and organization through a transformation into a culture of giving.
Must be a self-starter and strategist who is also an effective implementer.
Well-developed interpersonal skills; experience working with diverse populations.
Intellectually curious and able to distill complex, technical information into easily readable content for a general audience.
Ability to lead and train others in the importance of storytelling to develop content and messaging.
Capacity to prioritize multiple activities and responsibilities. Well-organized and flexible; detail-oriented with strong follow-through and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of healthcare terminology and concepts, specifically maternal child health, highly desirable.
Extremely collaborative, results driven with a proven track record of growing a diverse and sustainable revenue portfolio.
Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Donor Perfect.
Telecommuting is allowed.
