Our high performing Alumni and Development team is seeking an Annual Giving Development Officer with a solid understanding of the science that drives philanthropy, and who thrives in a highly demanding environment. This Development Officer position will join an Alumni & Development team of 40 and be an integral part of leading innovative campaigns that integrate a variety of fundraising channels. They will oversee internal and external donor engagement and fundraising, designed to support the following strategic objectives:
To maximize alumni participation to grow SAIT’s donor base utilizing new fundraising techniques.
To maximize the financial support of alumni, employees and friends.
To move donors through the Annual Giving pipeline and facilitate the identification of major gift and legacy giving prospects.
Under the direction of the Manager Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Development Officer develops, coordinates, and implements activities related to our goals around prospect discovery, gift solicitation and donor engagement. This maturing program includes an aggressive and creative direct mail and telemarketing component; a faculty/staff appeal; an e-solicitation program designed to complement both direct mail and tele fundraising appeals, and leadership annual giving initiatives. As well, this position will be working with our President’s Giving Circle to grow and membership and leverage opportunities for SAIT’s Giving Day.
This position is responsible for assisting in the development of new programs, and will evaluate the life cycle of various initiatives to keep the program relevant for constituents and growing the base of loyal donors for the organization. Particular emphasis will be placed on developing a more robust monthly giving program, personal visits with donors and potential donors as well as a running SAIT’s Family Campaign. In collaboration with the Manager of Annual Giving, this position will set annual objectives, establish strategies to reach those objectives, analyze results and monitor progress. Furthermore, they are responsible for assisting in promoting crowdfunding projects to external and internal constituents.
