Job Summary: The Development Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts for Our Lady of the Lake University that range generally above $25,000. Duties include but are not limited to:
Collaborating with the President, Board of Trustees, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Executive Director of Development, and the Foundation Relations Officer to reach fundraising goals for established strategic priorities of the university,
Identifying new prospects,
Establishing strategies for cultivation of prospects and current donors,
Establishing strategies for soliciting major gifts,
Executing a stewardship strategy for donors and their gifts;
Serving a strategic role in planning and implementing initiatives to engage donors, alumni and family members within the functions of the university
Fulfilling other duties as assigned within the Division of Institutional Advancement.
Organizes and implements major gift prospect identification strategies.
Works directly with the Vice President and Executive Director of Development to coordinate activities for lead donors.
Personally visit top engaged alumni, families and donors.
Formulates and executes giving strategies for short-term and long-term campaigns.
Solicits major gifts to meet specific financial goals.
Interface regularly with faculty, academic leadership and departments of OLLU Colleges and Schools to identify needs to connects with donors.
Recruit faculty, university officials and other administrators to identify needs and develop proposals for donors.
Other duties as assigned.

Experience with electronic tracking system.
Employee will hold confidential information in strict confidence and shall exercise a reasonable degree of care to prevent disclosure to others.
Employee will not reproduce the confidential information for any purpose other than the performance of his/her duties.
Commitment as an exempt employee to working some weekends and evenings.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
Five years of successful experience in Development or related field, preferred.
Familiarity with fundraising databases to input call reports, communications and notes into donor records, preferred.
