Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Development Manager will collaborate with the Vice President of Development, SDBB leadership and the Marketing team to launch a comprehensive fundraising program.
The Development Manager is an experienced fundraising professional who serves as a liaison across the organization and demonstrates expertise in understanding and articulating the San Diego Blood Bank's initiatives to a range of potential financial donors.
The Development Manager creates an environment that enhances communication and collaboration among colleagues. The ideal candidate will develop corporate, individual and community partnerships to build philanthropic support and plays a strategic role in the execution of our mission - to enhance community health through research, education, and personalized wellness.
San Diego Blood Bank is a local, regional and national healthcare provider that collaborates with innovative organizations to save and transform lives through cutting edge research and blood donations.
Manage an engaging annual giving program.
Help launch a major gift fundraising program to secure individual gifts of $10,000+.
Develop a community engagement fundraising program with the launch of an endurance charity program and other fundraising initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, Marketing. Masters preferred.
This job operates in a professional office environment.
Light to medium lifting required, seeking assistance and using provided equipment, such as cart, lift gate, etc., when necessary / indicated.
Must be able to work on a computer 4-8 hours per day.
Normal office equipment.

Strategic and Innovative create and implement innovative solutions, plans and programs that align with the SDBB vision. Identify growth opportunities to cultivate and sustain donor support. Set goals to be bold in thinking and decisive in actions to execute the SDBB mission and vision.

The San Diego Blood Bank is a certified 501 c3 non-profit organization serving hospitals in the San Diego, Imperial, Los Angeles and Orange Counties. We are also the primary provider of blood to Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego. We are the safety net for our regional blood needs. Every year, more than 120,000 units of blood provided by the San Diego Blood Bank are transfused into patients of all ages, socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds throughout San Diego County. These patients are struggling with life threatening medical conditions including cancer and other blood disorders, severe burns, organ transplants, emergency surgery, trauma, childbirth complications and more. The San Diego Blood Bank is also the California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) designated Southern California Regional Operations Center for the distribution of blood to Southern California in the event of a major disaster or act of terrorism in the State of California.
