The College of Engineering (COE) at Oregon State University (OSU) invites applications for its first Executive Director for Advancement to lead the development and implementation of a strategy to advance constituent relationships across the college. Reporting to the Dean and serving on the college’s senior leadership team, the Executive Director will develop and lead COE’s advancement strategy through collaboration with the college’s executive director for strategic partnerships and senior director for advancement communications, as well as the senior director of development from the Oregon State University Foundation, the college’s lead fundraiser. The Executive Director will be responsible for the college’s strategic engagement with various constituencies and will supervise the college’s event team.
Well-qualified applicants will hold a master’s degree in a relevant area and five years of leadership in implementing and managing strategic relationships for higher education or in a nonprofit, foundation or government setting. Individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area and have ten years of leadership as described above are also encouraged to apply.
The successful Executive Director will have the ability to create strong professional relationships; excellent written communication skills; a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness in all aspects of job performance, including demonstrable success in communicating effectively with diverse audiences and building relationships with minority and underrepresented groups; and leadership skills with the ability to set challenging and attainable goals, to set priorities and work with and inspire others to high levels of creative performance, and to leverage ideas into action.
