The Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for building relationships and advancing partnerships with the corporate and private foundation community to advance giving and achieve annual and long-range fund raising goals of the Foundation. The Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will work closely with individuals and groups throughout the Foundation and University to build relationships and advance University partnerships with donor organizations, and successfully secure funding including sponsorships for events, namings and programs.

Manage fundraising activities including prospect identification, cultivation, program/proposal development, solicitation and stewardship that will lead to increased gift opportunities for the benefit of University priority initiatives, including the establishment of multi-dimensional corporate partnerships to include endowment gifts
Develop and execute solicitation strategies with multiple stakeholders and steward relationships with corporate decision makers, foundation/ corporate giving representatives, UConn faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni and friends of foundation and corporate prospects.
Foster strong working relationships with Foundation colleagues, adhering to Prospect Management Guidelines and providing timely and appropriate documentation of interactions and solicitations.
Create strategic action plans for best prospects with intent of deepening relationships that lead to increased comprehensive giving; provide briefings to senior management on corporate and foundation fundraising activity within assigned areas.
Develop and clarify processes and procedures that support performance metrics: work with Prospect Research to guide caseload assignments; track, analyze and report on progress against goals; participate in regular performance reviews; and recommend training and enhancements as needed.
Establish working relationships with key faculty and staff to gain knowledge of university activities in order to generate additional corporate and foundation support for their programs.
Cultivate, solicit and steward a caseload of current and prospective donors. Assemble and engage collaborative teams of staff and volunteers to implement engagement and solicitation strategies.
Develop with Senior Director policies and projects to postion CFR for fundraising success, including successful internal and external CFR brand recognition.
Perform with precision, determination, and positive attitude.

An understanding and appreciation of the role of fund raising at a public research university.

Interest and ability in researching potential prospects for a wide variety of university programs.

Ability to engender trust and confidence of donors and prospective donors and to maintain confidentiality of donor information; ability to represent the UConn Foundation to prospects, donors, faculty, administrators and others.
Able to exercise independent, creative and insightful judgment.
Knowledge of various office software systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Ability to be congenial, professional, and effective in managing relationships with donors, Foundation staff, University staff, and visitors.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills.
Ability to work to the demands of the position which may exceed a 40 hour work week.
Must be willing to travel extensively. Reliable personal transportation is necessary for this position.
Must possess a valid driver’s license issued from state in which employee resides. Employee must maintain at their expense, automobile liability insurance coverage in the minimum amount of $500,000 or a combination of umbrella and automobile liability insurance coverage of $500,000. A certificate of automobile insurance evidencing the limit, must be provided to the Foundation at hire and annually thereafter.
