The New Jersey Division of the Salvation Army is seeking a Contracts Manager in our DHQ location in Union, NJ.
The Contracts Manager works with Corps and Human Services to secure funds from government and United Way sources. The Contracts Manager creates and implements the overall strategy for government funding based on research, cultivation of relationships, preparation of applications and timely submission of related reports. Analyzes service and program needs; identifies best prospects for matching funds where needed. Ensures compliance with internal policies, required reporting for funds and relationship management.
Must be extremely organized and able to plan and implement strategies within a complex environment; manage goals and coordinate contacts within a busy schedule of proposals and with many relationships.
Must have very strong analytical skills, able to analyze data and develop targeted development strategies based on research.
Must have strong writing skills.
Ability to review and analyze financial budgets as part of the proposal writing process.
Must demonstrate the creativity of approach and ability to work as a member of a team to craft right contact for the funding source.
Bachelor’s degree in related area preferred or relevant professional experience.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in related technologies: Microsoft Office; Salesforce; Blackbaud system and others as needed; training provided.
Driver’s license and use of a vehicle required; ability to travel as needed throughout New Jersey and from time to time beyond New Jersey.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Able to work extended hours when needed.
Willingness to act in an “as-needed” capacity for emergencies.
