Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida is seeking a Grant Writer based in our Daytona office. The Grant Writer is primarily responsible for developing, managing, writing and reporting grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations. Candidate will persuasively communicate CLSMF mission and programs to diverse portfolio of funders. The Grant Writer will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a professional and resourceful demeanor, the ability to work both independently and as a team player, and a desire to take initiative and manage numerous projects. The Grant Writer assembles and submits grant requests, establish and maintain consistent professional relationships with stakeholders on all levels, conduct prospect research, and manages a challenging calendar of submissions and other deadlines.
A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants, a Bachelor’s degree, and 3 -5 years of relevant experience are required;
Must be able to craft funding proposals in a clear and compelling manner;
Thoroughly reviews award terms and conditions and coordinates the acceptance of awards;
Monitors achievement toward grant goals to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations;
Alerts program staff to any required reports to funders, collects data on funded projects, and assists with report development and submission;
Ensures that program reports, outcomes and deliverables are submitted on time;
Executes award closeout and maintains grant audit files;
Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential;
Effectively organizes, assembles and arranges resources to meet goals;
Maintains excellent historical records;
Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly-organized, and have experience using online databases and other sources to research, forecast and present captivating data (biographical, financial, and informational);
Successfully tracks the progress of various projects;
Candidate must possess an ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form;
Must possess excellent legal and community partnership skills and be computer literate (Microsoft Office 365);
Valid Florida automobile license, use of own auto, and proof of insurance necessary; and
Ability to perform duties and attend meetings and/or other functions throughout 12 county service area.
