Parkland Foundation seeks nominations and applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer. A subsidiary 501(c)3 of Parkland Health & Hospital System (PHHS) - Dallas County’s only public safety-net hospital - the health system and Foundation work hand-in-hand in an unprecedented alliance to ensure that residents of all backgrounds can access affordable, high quality care.
Parkland Foundation is dedicated to securing substantial financial resources that advance the goals of the PHHS. An expression of the region’s cherished commitment to community, Parkland Foundation was established in 1985 in order to solicit, receive and administer charitable gifts to benefit the health system. Dually reporting to Dr. Frederick P. Cerise, CEO of Parkland Health & Hospital System, and the Foundation’s Board of Directors, the Foundation CEO serves as Parkland’s lead fundraiser, cultivating and maintaining key relationships with supporters in the Dallas community. Additionally, the CEO is the key management leader of the Foundation, leading a high-performing staff of over 20 individuals.
PHHS is one of the largest public hospital systems in the country, caring for Dallas County’s most vulnerable residents since 1894. As the only public health system in Dallas County, Parkland provided $879.7 million in uncompensated care in fiscal year 2017. The hospital averages more than 1.2 million patient visits annually in its 878 adult patient beds and 107 neonatal patient beds with the support of more than 10,000 employees.
Over the past 12 years, Parkland Foundation has raised over $240 million in support of PHHS, including the $150 million I Standwith Parkland capital campaign to build a state-of-the-art new hospital facility and a recent $40 million campaign for a new breast health center. On the heels of these recent campaign accomplishments, Parkland Foundation will welcome a visionary and energetic leader to guide the organization as it pursues continued success in fund development, innovation, and service to community.
This individual should possess a strong track record of organizational leadership in a business or non-profit environment. The successful candidate will have passion for the mission of Parkland and the population it serves; an ability to develop and manage effective fund development campaigns; and a track record of recruiting and retaining a talented staff. The Foundation’s next CEO will be able to establish credibility throughout the Parkland organization including across all levels of institutional leadership, patients, donors and supporters, and the local community.
Review of nominations and applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Parkland Foundation will be assisted by J.J. Cutler, Jaimee Eddington, and Kaley Palanjian of Heidrick & Struggles, Inc. Nominations and applications should be directed to email@example.com.
