Jerusalem House is Atlanta's oldest and largest provider of permanent supportive housing for homeless and low-income men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS. We are a secular organization.
We are seeking a Director of Development. Ideal applicant will be a college graduate with a minimum of four years of professional experience in institutional fundraising and management of all functions of a development department at a non-profit agency.
The Director of Development oversees all areas of fundraising including supervision of development staff and the planning, execution and management of all fundraising activities for the agency. Specific fundraising background required includes the ability to develop and implement an annual development plan with measurable revenue objectives that includes strategies and tactics to raise funds in the areas of individual (including major donors), corporate, private and community foundations (grants) and special events. In addition, this position will be responsible for the design and implementation of all solicitation appeals, and development collateral (e.g., newsletters, brochures, marketing materials, website content, etc.)
Manage and supervise development personnel.
Supervise all agency fundraising activities.
Identify funding sources.
Organize and supervise all special events which may include after-hours and weekend attendance.
Act as liaison to the Jerusalem House Board of Directors and Development Committee seeking input and support of development programs.
Manage prospect lists and assignments for the Executive Director, Board and Development Committee.
Execute a capital campaign.
Monitor the effectiveness of fundraising programs including managing the budget through regular evaluation and reporting. Make recommendations for improvement where appropriate.
Participate in the development of various publications (e.g., newsletters, promotional materials, annual report, etc.) and website content.
Manage memorials and planned gifts including trusts and bequests.

Proven track record of donor prospecting, cultivation as well as retention of significant and long-term relationships.
Knowledge of or experience with a capital campaign.
Comprehensive knowledge of resources available locally, statewide and nationally.
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to maintain accountability, manage multiple priorities, and work independently while also functioning as part of a cooperative team.
