Positioned to play a key role in the achievement of many priorities and initiatives, USF seeks a proven major gift fundraiser to fill the role of Director of Development for the College of Engineering. The Director will report to the Sr. Director of Development for the College and will supervise a development officer. The Director will work collaboratively with peers across campus, the Dean, Department Chairs and faculty to build and steward relationships with the College’s various constituents and identify, cultivate and solicit prospects to secure private, major gifts ($100,000) to advance the College’s mission and goals. Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed to meet with alumni and prospects to connect them with the College and encourage their philanthropic support; also to attend various events which may occur in evenings and/or weekends.
The ideal candidate will be a proven fundraiser who has a passion for higher education; is eager to join a large, progressive institution; and, one who is a self-started and brings a record of accomplished fundraising success, with the credibility to win the trust of faculty, many of whom will be willing partners in the identification and cultivation process.

Bachelor's degree and 5 years’ experience in development
Excellent Interpersonal and Written Communication skills
Certified through CFRE
Experience in Higher Education fundraising
Experience supervising at least one professional employee
Proven experience collaborating with a college-wide development council/advisory board which successfully raised philanthropic dollars
Familiarity and comfort working in a large, complex organization where collaboration and collegiality is imperative for success
