Hotel Hope is recruiting a Development Director who is highly motivated, enthusiastic, eager to spread the mission of Hotel Hope to others in the community and beyond. In partnership with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, the Development Director will lead fund raising efforts for Hotel Hope. This position will develop and execute fund-raising plans and assist in marketing Hotel Hope and the services it provides. The Director of Development assures the funding of Hotel Hope’s annual operating budget of approximately seven hundred thousand dollars.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cultivates and maintains relationships with new and existing donors
Develops and implements programs for major gifts
Conducts face to face solicitations with individuals, businesses, foundations and agencies
Directs and coordinates solicitations by mail and constant contact emails
Provides monthly updates to the Board of Directors on progress and results
Working with the Communications Committee, develop and execute plans to promote Hotel Hope’s brand within the community and assist in building awareness relative to the needs of the homeless women and children in our community that require funding to address
Working with Hotel Hope’s Grants team, research, prepare and submit grant proposals to private foundations and government agencies, follow up reports and all necessary correspondence
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with all donors via personal letters, follow up calls and site visits
With Board of Directors, staff and other volunteers, provide assistance with special fund-raising events.
Assist Executive Director in any areas needed related to funding, marketing, public relations

Demonstrates effective communication skills in building relationships with all employees, board members, guests and other nonprofits
Minimum of three years proven experience in fund raising.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work comfortably with all levels at donor organizations and other external audiences
Ability to coordinate and effectively conduct major fund-raising activities and events
Experience in grant writing
College degree preferred
Prior experience in raising funds and developing programs for a non-profit organization preferred
Ability to develop new donor and community relationships and to maintain existing ones
