The United States Golf Association (USGA) invites applications and nominations for the inaugural position of Chief Philanthropy Officer and Executive Director of the USGA Foundation (CPO/ED). The CPO/ED reports to the USGA's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mike Davis, and will work in close collaboration, and be accountable to, the Senior Managing Director of Public Services, Rand Jerris. The CPO/ED will also work closely with USGA's senior executive team on strengthening all aspects of the USGA's philanthropic program, including the USGA Foundation.
The successful candidate will be expected to build gift revenue in support of the USGA's philanthropic priorities, including environmental sustainability, accessibility of the game, the USGA Golf Museum, developing a next generation of diverse leaders for the game, and improving the quality of the golfer experience. The CPO/ED will partner with colleagues throughout the organization to build a culture of philanthropic giving, set and achieve revenue goals, and inspire USGA members and supporters to deepen their relationship with the game and USGA through annual, major, principal, and planned giving.
The USGA celebrates, serves, and advances the game of golf worldwide. Founded in 1894, the Association conducts golf’s premier open and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. Together with The R&A in St Andrews, Scotland, the USGA governs the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, and amateur status rules. The USGA’s operating jurisdiction for these governance functions includes the United States, its territories, and Mexico. The USGA Handicap System is utilized in more than 40 countries and the USGA’s Course Rating System covers 95 percent of the world’s golf courses, enabling all golfers to play on an equitable basis. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where research, science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where the game is honored through the curation of the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts.
