The Donor Engagement Coordinator oversees the development and implementation of national fundraising and stewardship initiatives including direct mail, impact reporting, monthly giving, data management and special projects (as assigned). This position has primary responsibilities for MCC’s mass giving file and supports provincial oversight of middle, major and planned gifts. This position manages/supervises a team to provide these donor relations services which include; Donor Relations Data Specialist and the Donor Engagement Assistant.

Design and implement a comprehensive stewardship strategy with appropriate cultivation, solicitation and appreciation activities for mass giving segments with a focus on quarterly appeals including direct mail, email solicitations and impact reporting
Oversee the ongoing development and implementation of a donor retention strategy for the provinces with a focus on mass and middle giving
Oversee the identification of lapsed and inactive donors and the development and implementation of reactivation strategies
In consultation with provincial staff, develop and implement a national monthly giving program
Develop and implement programs associated with campaigns (example: MCC’s Centennial Campaign)
Coordinate the implementation of the national planned giving program
Support provincial CDR staff with reporting on middle, major and planned gifts
Oversee the segmentation of data into appropriate categories to be used by both national and provincial CDR teams
Oversee the identification and qualification of prospective donors in the mass and middle giving categories and work with provinces to coordinate upgrade giving opportunities
Develop a network of peers to gain insight into giving trends and benchmarking data
Coordinate the national donor relations network comprised of national and provincial CDR staff
Ensure that the gospel of Jesus Christ is exemplified in the performance of all job responsibilities and through personal example.
Participate in regular staff meetings, spending time in devotions and prayer with all in attendance in local MCC setting.
Model nonviolent peacemaking through daily interactions with staff and the public.
Participate in a local church and gatherings, being willing to use his or her gifts within the local faith community.
Some travel, domestic and international, is required.
4+ years fundraising or equivalent experience
Experience managing a pipeline
Experience in fundraising with demonstrated success leading direct mail programs, setting and achieving goals
Knowledge of direct mail techniques and experience with solicitation and stewardship best practices
Proficient in database management. Experience with Donor Perfect Online (DPO) an asset
Post-secondary degree in marketing, communications or fundraising preferred
Excellent writing and editing skills
Experience as a supervisor an asset
Good understanding of the Mennonite constituency an asset
Good understanding of the relief and development field an asset
Understanding and support of the vision, purpose, beliefs and values of MCC, the biblical call to respond to human need, and the Anabaptist commitment to peace and justice.
Valid driver’s license
