Department Annual Giving
Time Base/Hours/Units per Week Full-time 40 hours per week.
Position Description Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President for Advancement Services and Auxiliary Support, the Senior Director manages the design and implementation of fundraising programs that broaden and sustain the base of annual philanthropic gift support by establishing a seamlessly integrated relationship-based pipeline of CSULB alumni, parents and friends. The Senior Director will establish goals, objectives, strategies and activities for campus-wide programs while leading a team of annual giving fundraisers.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Extensive knowledge of best practices for direct mail and telemarketing campaigns, as well as facilitating giving through e-giving and social networking. Highly effective supervisory skills as well and excellent project management skills. Ability to travel off campus for events and donor visits. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with alumni, parents, faculty, and the community.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of related experience required. Proven experience in fundraising and/or development operations, preferably in higher education.
