The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is looking for a full-time Corporate Relations Advisor to join our growing development team at the Milwaukee Campus. WHS is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation with six operating locations, and a budget of approximately $10 million.
Builds and manages a portfolio of 75-125 major corporate giving prospects
Leverages WHS programs and initiatives to attract major corporate gifts
Develops sustainable and scalable programs and strategies that foster awareness and support from local and statewide corporations
Participates as a member of the development team in planning and implementing the organization’s overall fundraising strategy and programs
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is strongly preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum three years direct corporate engagement required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience managing grant writing and foundation development preferred
Commitment to treating animals and people with respect and kindness
Full-time staff are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including up to 2 weeks Vacation, 1 week Paid Time Off (PTO), and 6 paid Holidays within their first year. Paid time-off will be prorated based on the full-time hire date and is available after 45 days of consecutive employment. The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is the oldest and largest shelter in Wisconsin. It was founded in 1879 and operates shelters in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Door, and Brown Counties, as well as a Spay/Neuter Clinic in West Allis. The organization offers adoption services, educational programming, and veterinary resources for animals from low-income households, retail stores, volunteer programs and dog training classes. The Milwaukee shelter also houses the states busiest Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. WHS is an independent nonprofit and receives no general government funding and is not part of any national umbrella group.
