Macalester College seeks to hire a full-time Senior Associate Director of Macalester Fund to work in its Macalester Fund Department. This position works in collaboration with the Director to develop and implement strategies to increasing alumni participation, reunion gift efforts, and building commitment to Macalester’s future. This position is responsible for managing three members of the Macalester Fund team. They will coordinate and serve as the main point person for the Class Agent program, a major and growing program within the Macalester Fund and will directly support Class Agent and Reunion volunteers.
Supervise and direct the work of two Assistant Directors and the Pay It Forward Fellow and their respective participation-focused program areas: call center, young alumni programming, and campus philanthropy education.
In collaboration with the Director, establishes a strategic vision and plan to meet ambitious Macalester goal for alumni participation.
Works cross-functionally with Macalester Fund staff and other colleagues to implement initiatives related to participation.
Works with the Director to determine best practices for volunteer engagement and implement the strategies and tactics used to grow a strong and stable Class Agent program.
Serve as the daily point person and coordinator for the Class Agent program, including tracking volunteer data, managing resources, creating and presenting reports, and adjusting strategies and tactics in order to meet Class Agent program targets.
Recruits and manages a particular group of Class Agents and Reunion giving volunteers.
Bachelor’s degree required.
3-5 years of successful fundraising experience required. Annual Fund and higher education experience is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of volunteer management or volunteer experience required. 3-5 years volunteer management experience preferred.
1-2 years of supervisory experience required.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, quickly changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
Strong professional background in volunteer management strategies, solicitation strategies, conflict management and staff management.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize activities in accordance with departmental goals and to meet deadlines.
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and various email and web/social media applications.
A valid Class D driver’s license.
