American Jewish University (AJU) is a school unlike any other. While very much an institution of higher education, it also offers resources to the community that far transcend what is typical for colleges and universities. A thriving center of resources and talent, AJU is built upon the mission of Jewish learning, culture, ethics, leadership and peoplehood. It is one of the largest and most innovative Jewish institutions in the country. Now, with a new president and a committed board, AJU is poised to realize a compelling vision for the institution’s future.
AJU seeks a Vice President for Advancement to enhance a culture of philanthropy and build a comprehensive best-practice advancement operation to enable the institution’s continued and enhanced record of service to the community.
The incoming Vice President for Advancement will partner with senior leadership to create and execute a strategic plan to realize a compelling new vision for the institution’s future. The ideal candidate will be an individual with a substantial fundraising and leadership experience, who has built programs and managed teams during times of momentous change, working in partnership with key leadership to raise philanthropic support and personal engagement. Sensitivity to history and culture, entrepreneurship and decisiveness, as well as unquestioned integrity, are absolutely required.
Seldom does a leader have such an opportunity to reshape an Advancement department at a successful institution undergoing strategic growth, in partnership with a president focused on fundraising and a willing board.
