The Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive advancement program which conveys the mission, vision and philosophy of RCS. The position is primarily responsible for donor relations and philanthropic operations with alumni, key individuals, groups, corporate businesses, foundation agencies, Catholic community, and the greater Rochester area. Under the supervision of the Director of Schools and in collaboration with the RCS Leadership team, the Director is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive marketing program that promotes the advancement of our Catholic identity by overseeing public relations, social media, branding, school enrollment strategies, and communication efforts. The Director oversees department staffing and activities such as event planning, grant writing, annual appeals, capital campaigns, admissions, and the celebration of award programs.
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; and three years of proven experience in a combination of major gifts, campaigns, planned giving, fundraising, portfolio management, donor relations, event planning, and writing/journalist. Or equivalent combination of education and experience in estate, tax or financial planning or wealth management. Certification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred. Strong managerial, leadership and supervisory skills. Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge in social media, marketing and database management.
