California State University San Marcos seeks Director of Development – College of Business Administration Liaison (Administrator II) in the Office of University Advancement. Under the direction of the Director of Major Gifts – Team Lead, provides leadership and direction to the University’s fundraising efforts. The DOD is responsible for developing comprehensive strategic fundraising efforts to meet short and long term goals, implementing strong programs that elicit philanthropic support from foundations, corporations or donors, solicitation and closure of gifts, stewardship, and management of future campaign activities.This position also serves as the Office of Development liaison to the College of Business Administration (CoBA). In that role the Director will staff the leadership and faculty within CoBA in all aspects of private fundraising.

A broad background in fundraising for an educational institution or similarly complex not-for profit environment. Specifically a Bachelor’s degree in related field plus two years of experience in fundraising, preferably within the greater San Diego region.
Master’s degree in related field
Work experience in an academic setting, ideally Public Higher Education.
Salary and Position Status
Full time, probationary position with benefits
Anticipated Hiring Salary: Commensurate with Experience, Knowledge & Skill. This position is an Administrator II in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.
