Senior Manager of Development and Individual Giving
DSST Public Schools (DSST) seeks a Senior Manager of Development and Individual Giving to join one of the leading charter school organizations in Colorado. Overview of Position:
DSST Public Schools (DSST) seeks a full-time Senior Manager of Development to join one of the leading charter school organizations in Colorado. The candidate is an experienced development professional who will focus on Individual Donor cultivation and building new relationships that are managed into long-term partners and supporters of DSST.
Execute on donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals.
Participate in all aspects of the gift cycle including initiating contacts with potential donors, developing appropriate cultivation strategies, moving potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure; and to maintain stewardship contacts with donors.
Conduct research on donors and industry trends with a goal of identifying strategies for increasing support and uncovering viable prospects.
Serve as primary point for the Development Department for a variety of fundraising projects and initiatives including special events, our annual fundraiser, specific programs requiring a development plan and individual solicitations, and providing school-based fundraising guidance and support.
Serve as a productive team member and thought leader to optimize the use of our donor management and grant management systems. (Donor Perfect and GrantHub).
In consort with the Director and Sr. Manager of Grants Management, establish annual and capital fundraising goals and design of work plan for the development team to reach the organizations goals and objectives articulated in DSST Strategic Plan.
A rich development background and a broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising, with a strong record of progressive and successful development experience.
Expertise in and knowledge of recent funding trends and motivations in the individual giving arena.
Must be an excellent communicator, creative, resourceful and flexible with a desire and ability to work collaboratively.
Able to articulate the case for support so that individuals “buy in” to the vision/mission/goals of DSST, and serve as an articulate spokesperson for the Development Team and the organization.
Be very well-organized, able to plan and manage strategically, set priorities and focus on details while not losing sight of the big picture, with the flexibility to welcome and embrace change.

A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of development/fundraising experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required.
DSST Public Schools (DSST) operates a network of tuition-free, open-enrollment public STEM charter schools. All DSST Public schools are part of the Denver Public Schools (DPS) district and students are admitted through DPS’ School Choice program. The student population across the DSST network is 80 percent students of color and 64 percent low income. This year, DSST will serve approximately 5,000... students at twelve schools on seven campuses: Byers, Cole, College View, Conservatory Green, Green Valley Ranch, Henry and Stapleton. DSST has been approved to open ten additional schools and four campuses by 2022. At full enrollment, DSST Public Schools will serve over 10,000 students, one quarter of the DPS 6-12 population, and will help more than double the number of four year college-ready DPS graduates. 2016 marked the ninth consecutive year the senior class has earned 100% acceptance to a four-year college. The continued success of the DSST network has gained local and national attention.
