The Director of Development is responsible for all streams of fundraising of the YMCA of Greater Nashua, including the annual support campaign, major gift fundraising, corporate gifts, capital campaigns, foundation grants, and planned giving. The ideal candidate will possess a great latitude for independent decision-making and a self-starter attitude.
Job responsibilities include: strategic planning for an integrated campaign model that supports the Association’s goals and vision, volunteer management of the Development Committee and Board of Directors as well as task forces, relationship building to strengthen our ties with key constituents through systematic cultivation and stewardship, directing the fundraising activities of the senior management team and program directors,
Bachelor's degree in business administration, financial development, communication, public relations, human services or equivalent required.
Three or more years of successful full-time financial development experience in a non-profit organization with an emphasis on annual campaigns, volunteer development and donor cultivation.
Ability to design and implement short and long term fundraising plans and budgets to support strategic goals.
Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of philanthropy within an organization.
Direct experience in relationship building, internally and externally, working with volunteers, senior level community leaders, board of directors and staff.
Experience managing, supporting and recruiting volunteers
Strong and engaging verbal and written communication skills.
Strong results-oriented, collaboration, project management and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and direction for others, with an attention to quality and timely delivery of initiatives.
Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule consistent with the demands and needs of an executive team, volunteers, community leaders, and related special events.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Understanding of finance and budgeting
Knowledge of Daxko software a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
