The MIT Alumni Association seeks an associate director to manage a fundraising campaign to encourage philanthropy from MIT’s ten most recently graduated classes (aka MIT10). Will develop volunteer strategy for annual cross-class initiative gift campaign and coordinate and manage regional campaign fundraising events; leverage best volunteer management practices to lead successful campaigns that emphasize loyal annual participation at every level; and develop and solicit a pipeline of undergraduate young alumni annual leadership donors.
This is a unique opportunity in the MIT Annual Fund to build a tradition of giving amongst MIT’s ten youngest alumni classes through the management of volunteer committee efforts and personal solicitations. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who wants to manage and mentor young volunteers and gain valuable experience preparing for a career in major gift fundraising. Three years of relevant experience, preferably in a contemporary higher education fundraising environment
Experience managing volunteers
Proven success working as member of a team; tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity when dealing with highly confidential information
Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and familiarity with complex databases
Outstanding time management, communication, and organization skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work well both independently and cooperatively
