Maryland Therapeutic Riding (MTR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to improve the quality of life of children, adults and wounded veterans with special needs through equine therapies and activities.
Coordinates, executes and supports functions associated with the fundraising activities of MTR, including database entry, donor acknowledgment, management and promotion of fundraising and community outreach events as well as administrative support for the executive director. Reports to the Executive Director.
Entry of all donations (including in-kind donations) into the Donor Perfect Online CRM database.
Manage all phases of donor acknowledgement program, including sending out personalized tax receipts and thank you letters in a timely fashion.
Assist with solicitation letters, proposals, stewardship and cultivation packages and progress reports as needed
Schedule cultivation and stewardship meetings or board meetings as necessary
Donor research and records management
Plan and coordinate, with volunteer support, all fundraising events including the annual Derby Day Benefit, our annual fundraiser to support operations.
Manage community engagement program, including identifying prospects and scheduling meetings/presentations for the Executive Director.
Assist Executive Director on timely projects as needed
Format and print letters, memos, envelopes, labels etc.
Arrange meetings/calendars for Executive Director and/or Board members
Maintain relevant information on website and manage updates in a WORDPRESS format
Monitor and order office supplies as needed
Make travel arrangements for staff
Other tasks as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2-3 years of applicable experience, preferably in a non-profit environment with similar responsibilities
Strong, “can do”, positive, flexible demeanor
Excellent proficiency in using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Very comfortable and prior experience using mail merge
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize, manage, follow up and provide status updates on multiple projects
Must be a self -starter and able to work independently, but also comfortable in a team environment
Willingness to work occasional weekends or evenings
Must have active driver’s license and personal vehicle

This unique form of therapy is life-changing for individuals with autism disorders, neuromuscular conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifid...a, or multiple sclerosis, as well as developmental and behavioral disorders. We own our farm in Crownsville, MD and the facility includes an indoor arena.
