EVMS seeks a highly energetic professional to join an award winning development team in the role of Capital Campaign Manager II. Recognized as the area’s Outstanding Nonprofit Organization in 2014 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Hampton Roads Chapter National Philanthropy Day event, EVMS has developed creative, resourceful and inspired campaigns, initiatives, projects and techniques that have grown and increased our fundraising infrastructure, program and results.
The Capital Campaign Manager is a member of the Development fundraising team that supports the fundraising goals for EVMS. The Capital Campaign Manager will report to the Assistant Vice President for Development and will work closely and collaboratively with EVMS’ President and EVMS Foundation Board of Trustees members to develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive Capital Campaign with specific emphasis on individual major giving. This position will direct all logistics of the campaign from planning, to volunteer support, to campaign reporting, to donor strategies and is responsible for overall campaign management and organization including strategy, prospect tracking, pipelines, task assignment and maintenance of timelines. Manage Campaign Steering, Silent Phase and Public Phase Committees; Serve as primary relationship manager for a portfolio of current and prospective donors which includes identifying, cultivating, personally soliciting high level gifts and stewarding major gifts as well as facilitating relationships; Develop and/or oversee the development of all campaign correspondence including solicitation proposals, meeting requests and follow up. Schedule meetings, prepare talking points, assemble presentations, and prepare meeting materials for Board members, campaign volunteers and Development staff; Maintain master campaign calendar to keep campaign on track; assist in all aspects of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities and events; Creation, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive, multi-year plan to increase the number of donors and financial support to EVMS; Coordinate and facilitate all components of solicitations for the President, Board of Trustees, and selected development officers including timing and nature of appeals, writing copy, working with outside vendors; Serve as the lead project manager for the Campaign. Manage and train a group of volunteers. Track participation and monies raised throughout campaign and continually and effectively report on results utilizing benchmarks. Work schedule will require weekends, evenings, and extended hours as needed.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus Five years’ experience in fundraising, higher education or academic health center with a solid understanding of fundraising principles and methodologies. The successful candidate will have:

Ability to speak clearly and persuasively with individuals of varying backgrounds and levels of sophistication; demonstrate group presentation skills.
High level ability to write proposals, reports and correspondence; present numerical data affectively and synthesize complex ideas and data into concise motivational messages to secure philanthropic support.
Experience in developing and implementing strategies for achieving goals and assess against benchmarks.
Experience in budget planning, analysis, management and oversight. Ability to review, analyze and manipulate complex statistical data for solicitation purposes. Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience with complex database required, preferably Raiser’s Edge.
Must have a driver's license. Weekend and evening work will be required.
