The AVC will possess a deep knowledge of all facets related to fundraising, including donor relations, stewardship, volunteer leadership, alumni relations, in addition to demonstrating the strategic acumen required to achieve campaign goals. This individual will identify opportunities to increase philanthropy, create themes for major gift proposals, and manage a select portfolio of principal and major donors. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator with the skill to translate academic, medical/technical, and other information to a variety of audiences. The AVC will have an understanding of contractual relationships and intellectual property matters and the ability to articulate the academic and civic missions of UCLA, the David Geffen School of Medicine and the UCLA Health System.
This position will report directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Development, and the Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences, with indirect reporting to the Dean of the DGSOM and the President of UCLA Health, and will attend all Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences Executive meetings. The AVC will work closely with leadership in UCLA Development and UCLA Health Sciences with a focus on institutional priorities as identified by the Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences, the Dean of the David Geffen School of Medicine, and the President, UCLA Health.
