Education (include licenses, certifications, etc.):
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, journalism or communications.
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in the field of stewardship, donor relations, advancement communications or related field required.
Demonstrated understanding of the importance of donor relations and stewardship to a successful fundraising program required.
Leadership experience in a complex environment and the ability to effectively manage complex situations involving numerous and sometimes competing constituencies required.
Proficiency in data analysis and report preparation, along with experience in budgeting and strategic planning and experience in coordinating special events and ceremonies are required.
Involvement and experience with utilizing extensive network of stewardship professionals required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to interact with donors and senior-level executives and administrators required.
Ability to establish measurable goals and objectives and develop and implement strategies for success as well as lead, motivate, set objectives and manage performance of staff required.
Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to donors and the university required.
Strong customer service experience required.
Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects under demanding deadlines required.
Ability to perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others required.
Ability to represent the institution well required.
