The Chief Development Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of the OCCC Development program which includes Board relations, faculty and staff relations, donor relations, fundraising, grants, alumni outreach and development, donor campaign development and budgeting, team building/team member development and supervision, as well as, all reporting and fiduciary responsibilities associated with a growing and thriving professional fundraising and development program. The Chief Development Officer works closely with the President in the maintaining of donor records in the donor management software, which includes correspondence to donors in response to gifts and donor reporting for development purposes. The Chief Development Officer ensures OCCC operates at the highest level of integrity and is in compliance with generally accepted fundraising and development standards and guidelines. The Chief Development Officer manages a portfolio with approximately 100-125 donors; setting goals, creating strategic plans and developing scorecard metrics for organization and all team members. The Chief Development Officer works collaboratively with external and internal resources and in support of Board volunteers and other advancement staff. The Chief Development Officer works with College/Foundation on proper event planning, programming, marketing/branding and outreach. The Chief Development Officer builds pipeline strategies to build prospective donors and establish contact; ensure positive and purposeful prospect work is complementing efforts in donor relations. The Chief Development Officer coaches and facilitates the President and others designated by the President on how to successfully engage donors and prospective donors: identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and oversee these individuals. The Chief Development Officer must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the five to seven figure range; and be prepared for public speaking opportunities with multiple audiences; assist in key ancillary projects/programs which open doors and build relationships; create presentations for the President as needed for timely communication, updates and planning sessions.

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, resource development, public administration or related field. (Applicants are required to attach transcript conferring required Bachelor’s degree.)
Minimum of five (5) years relevant successful experience in major and/or planned gift fundraising.
