Alameda County Community Food Bank has achieved notable success in recent years, including being voted 2016 Food Bank of the Year by Feeding America, the nation’s network of food banks. How have we been able to achieve this? It starts with dedicated, mission-driven colleagues, including a Leadership Gifts team passionately striving to raise funds that ensure every child, adult and senior in Alameda County knows where their next meal will come from.
As a member of the Food Bank’s development department, the Major Gifts Officer plays an integral role in achieving our increasingly ambitious fundraising goals by planning and implementing our major donor development strategy. Reporting to the Director of Leadership Gifts, this position collaborates with members of the 21-person development team, Board of Directors, Donor Relations Committee, Executive Director and other members of the Food Bank’s leadership team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned fundraising professional with experience managing a portfolio of major and legacy donors and prospects, with a primary focus on the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals with the capacity to make gifts of $5,000 or more.
